I think I was locked out of this one too.

If I had been a bit better off, I probably would have gone to the play-offs to support Boro.

We became a different team in the cups for a couple of seasons, the contrast was stark..

It was an early kick off. Still remember getting up early to go with my Dad to the game, turning up at the ground and having to come home again as we couldn't get in, was gutted! Think this is my youtube video actually!

Was there for this - in the West Side with my dad, even when we went a man down I don't remember thinking Chelsea fancied it enough to pull it back, and they needed to win.
The ground was rammed. It was definitely an early kick off. It was one of those days when UP was full and the intense atmosphere did for the away team from the start.

Still, even Bonzo wasn't fit enough to run out from the tunnel two times if that had been the London Stadium.

Ha Ha Ha!!!

This only goes to remind me I've missed the Boleyn Ground for many many years. I was on the packed Chicken Run, just a floobed grolly away from the touchline.

Still, even Bonzo wasn't fit enough to run out from the tunned two times if that had been the London Stadium.

Just watched it...funny as the Leroy red card didn't look that bad on that footage... I always thought he gave him a proper strangle up from where we was... good game that was in a season of mostly shit..

Couldn't get to that game so I bought the VHS when it came out. Then lent it out at 50p a pop at school and made the twelve quid back.

I was in the Chicken Run and was directly in line with Rosenior when he slotted in his 2nd. That was a great moment.
The trivia I remember:
It was a very early kick off (possibly 11:30)
We already knew that a win would secure our survival as Chelsea and Charlton were due to play each other in the final game of the season. They couldn't both win.
John Lyall did put a goalkeeper on the bench for our final game. That was practically unIque at the time. I think it was Phil Parkes who McAllister was keeping out of the team.

Also this confirmed Chelsea went into the relegation play offs and they were subsequently relegated.

Times have changed for those cunts somewhat.

almost confirmed Eddie

we could have gone to Newcastle the following week, and had we lost by 6 or 67 or something still gone in ourselves

Lyall took the unheard of at the time step of naming a keeper on the bench

Lato, no, that was the 86/87 match in which we won 5-3.

I was there in the West stand upper. Last home game of that season.Think it was on a Monday? kick off certainly earlier than 3pm.

We played well and the win ensured safety.

Was this the game that Doug Rougvie got very close to being dragged into the East Stand?

TC's last goal for us before he went to Everton...

Bought tickets off a tout (£25) only to find we was sitting in with a load of Chelsea in the far corner of the upper west
